Baby goes to the market with Kyle

So, baby and I took Kyle to the local market and then to the roadside stand for food.

birds at the market

coconut water is awesome....

A saint in every size.

Baby goes to Fellowship Fridays...

So, I sit and wait patiently while we go through this weeks chapter, trying to not look like I am being impatient, but  I have to say I felt twelve years old again, waiting for my turn. See today was the day I was going to tell all my "lovelys" the news. The people that I knew that would jump in the air, that would squeal with me, cry with me and pray with me. These are my "homegirls" these women I trust and these women have  and know my heart too.

Every Friday I meet with a group of very cool ladies and we work through a book together. This year the book we are reading is  called " How to have a Mary heart in a Martha World",.. Its a great book on balancing life and your heart.

Anyway, I look forward to this little meeting very much, its the highlight of my week and this week I was going to FINALLY reveal the baby news. So, as we dicussed our homework and questions from the book, I begin to get impatient...I tapped my foot, twiddled my thumbs and breathed slowly looking at my phone every 2 seconds to see if it was my turn yet.
LOL.. how bad am I being impatient during Gods word...LOL

Well, the news was a hit....I couldnt wait to see their faces and feel their happiness.

here are some pictures of   Me and Baby and the "M & M's"...

My girls did an awesome protection prayer for the baby, Mike and I.  It was great to feel so loved and supported, This baby knows already how much its loved.

I must apologize now for the spelling mistakes.  You see the program I am using online here comes up in Spanish, so as most of you have said to me. Spell check your blog. Well, doesnt work because the spanish spell check thinks all the words are wrong. LOL

I will take the time this weekend or have Mr. Mike go through the blog and clean up the spelling. I know its very frusterating for all you perfect spellers out there :)

Baby get a visit from Uncle Kyle !

Kyle is my best buddy. He has been my friend since I moved to Tucson, now he is one of Mike and I's closest friends. He is here visiting Puerto Rico and we hung out at the beach all day :) He was super helpful with all things concerning the baby and even took naps when I needed to take my daily nap.
Good Friends are worth  their weight in gold. We are super happy that Kyle came to visit.

Baby loves you Kyle !

Baby Inspirations

So, since finding our we are having a baby, one thing you find yourself doing all the time is looking at baby things, baby clothes, baby baby baby....

You start to plan their little wardrobe, their room, all all the other details that will probably go to the waistside once you have them. But, here are some things that just make me  SMILE !!!

silly.... yes I know
so sweet arent them both though.

Making the Playlist....

~BabyLoves Playlist~
So, as I sit here creating this Blog for all to see, I thought to myself....Hey they all might like some music as they sit here and read about all our little adventures. I have always made compilations of music. Since I was a young teenage girl you could always tell if you were a part of my heart if you got a mix tape from me. Each Best Friend, each boyfriend, and yes even as I sit here at 38 years of age, nothing can express emotions like ~ MUSIC~.

When Mike was in Iraq, I would make him workout mix cd, then sad song mix cd, now I create playlist on our IPOD for road trips, birthday parties.

So, it was only natural that I make a mix of music that expresses all that I feel for this child inside me, all that I could hope for them.

I hope you enjoy. My favorites right now are …

Arms Wide Open-  If this song doesn’t capture your heart  then you may want to get to the doctor to see if you have one :)

Keeping it Real- Which was Mike and I‘s first love song to each other. We still know all the words and sing it loud when we are in the car.

Zion- Lauren Hill from the Fuggies wrote this song after finding out she was pregnant.

Just the Two of Us- Will Smith Rocks at being a Great Daddy.  I have loved this one forever! Good Daddies ROCK!!!

So, here are the lyrics to the Creed song....get your tissues out...You will need them :)

Lyrics to Arms Wide Open

Well I just heard the news today
It seems my life is going to change
I closed my eyes, begin to pray
Then tears of joy stream down my face
With arms wide open
Under the sunlight
Welcome to this place
I'll show you everything
With arms wide open
Well I don't know if I'm ready
To be the man (woman) I have to be
I'll take a breath, take her (him) by my side
We stand in awe, we've created life
With arms wide open
Under the sunlight
Welcome to this place
I'll show you everything
With arms wide open
Now everything has changed
I'll show you love
I'll show you everything
With arms wide open
If I had just one wish
Only one demand
I hope he's not like me
I hope he understands
That he can take this life
And hold it by the hand
And he can greet the world
With arms wide open

Etiquette 101: Things NOT to say to a pregnant woman!

Never say  the following:

  • Are you going to be able to keep this one? ( not nice  people ! )
  • Are you sure?
  • Your boobs are HUGE (unless you are her mother or best friend)...
  • Don’t get too FAT. ( wow, thanks! okay, i will give that message to the baby :)
  • You think this one will take? ( ouch!)
  • Does Mike know?  ( Yes he better LOL !! ha ha)
  • Hmmm, okay… interesting ...So what else is going on? ( I guess the creation of life is boring to this guy ! )
  • Don’t change the subject back to yourself after 2 seconds of hearing the news J

Well, you all know I put my foot in my mouth at least once a day, so I know words dont come out the way we want them to. I totally understand ! LOL
Being pregnant is already emotional, scary, yet completely amazing. We need your love only. Any fear or concren you throw at us we have already rolled it around in our head 5 thousand times. We have super human intuitive powers right now and we can sniff bad heebee geebee's a mile away.  Postive vibes only !
A few TIPS of the day for all  “emotionally bankrupt” and people that lack basic human etiquette! This is what to say for the next time you encounter someone that is experiencing the happiest moment of their life and you are priviledged enough for them to call you.

Positive things to SAY :

·         Congratulations!
·         We are so happy for you both!
·         How are you feeling so far?
·         Have you heard a heartbeat?
·         What’s your due date?
·         We are so proud!
·         That’s exciting
·         You are in our prayers!
·         We love you !

See, now isnt that much better :)

Babys doctor and Hospital

http://www.vitals.com/doctors/Dr_Jorge_Ostolaza-Bey.html

The day we recieved more than HOPE

This was an amazing day for both Mike and I. I had a rough week, I was assulted in the parking lot where I walk the track at and that night I started crampping so bad that we did emegency visit to the doctor in San Juan the next day. It was scary, would the doctor tell me I am lossing this baby...my mind was racing. But, by the end of that day we had more than hope because we had a heartbeat. It is a 2 hour drive to San Juan, and a 2 hour wait then back on the road for another 2 hour drive. When we pulled up to our little home we were emotionally  and physically exhausted. But, guess what we had waiting for us in our mailbox.  We had
" HOPE" pillow and a lovely little card hanging sweetly out of our mailbox.  That says have "faith in all things unseen".

We were both amazed, this person first of all had no idea we were even pregnant nor did they know what we had been through that day or the day before

This is out amazing friend Liz Booker, she is the one holding her sweet little daughter "Peach " in the book club photos. She too knows the struggles of knowing you were meant to be a Mommie yet having to go about it another way. She has two amazing daughters, both adopted but both hers. When I say hers, I mean these children were meant to be with her and her husband. I love her for her generous heart and her ability to share her story and give hope to others in moments of darkness.

Baby loves us some Liz Booker !

Baby watches Daddy make beer.

Mike started brewing before we were married so when he had the opportunity to start brewing with a friends here in Puerto Rico he took the chance to help his friend. This is a great way for him to learn other techniques and styles. One of the best things about Mike (your Poppa) is that he keeps trying new things and learning. We both love to grow and educate ourselves on new things that inspire us. Baby, there is no doubt in our minds that you will inherit these amazing qualities that we both intuitively have.

Handle with Care FRAGILE

we are playing it safe...

First Appointment : Aguadilla to San Juan....or bust !

We have our first appointment to make sure that the baby is really a baby. Yep, this is always nerve racking for us who have more than one miscarriage . This appointment confirms your hopes, it also can shatter them just as quick. We leave our home in Aquadilla and head to San Juan for our first appointment with Dr. Ostalaza , recommended by our dear friend Melanie. She has deleivered two babies here on the island, we respect her very much, so if she says this doctor is good. Well, we believe her.

So, you are probably saying, its an island Elizabeth, how hard can a drive be thats measures our less than 45 miles. Well, its an island and its a 2 hour drive. Yep......but we cant get there fast enough. We are nervous and excited, we dressed up for our first appointement, almost like it was a first date. Our first date with our baby.
The hospital is great, parking was easy, and we were pleasently surprised that all was going smoothly. We couldnt find the elevator in the parking gargage and we were on the 6 th floor, we saw a door that looked like it could take us somewhere, well, we both went through it and the door shut and we were on the construction stairs.  The door locked behind us and we had a fun time in our dress clothes going down 6 flights of stairs....

So, if you havent been to a doctor in Puerto Rico, there is a procedure. You go into the office and you get a number, then your nubmer gets called and then you are put on a list, then that list is where they call you from. Its at least a 2 hour wait ....always.
2 hour drive, 2 hour wait and an hour visit. We didnt care. We were excited to be there. You would of thought we were getting paid to be there because we were having a good time. Lots of babies and preganant ladies in the room :)

In doctors office waiting for Dr. Ostalaza....Mike taking picutes.....we are hopeful.

We have a sack, we have a postive result and we now have more than HOPE !

We have a baby.

Testing ...Testing...1,2,3......

When you are "High Risk", the doctor wants you to get your blood tested alot. I mean A LOT ! I had to go get my HCG and my protrestrone tested to make sure that they are inline with what the doctor saw in my belly.

He gave me 3 slips. one for HCG  and Pro the first day, the 2nd day just for HCG's and the third was a perscription for Protresgerone incase mine was low , I would be placed on that to keep this little one in my belly.

waiting...wainting...waiting......

 FIRST TEST

HCGS WERE 2100
PROTERGERONE WAS 28

SECOND TEST

HCG'S WERE 3200

We were right where we are supposed to me. Amazingly enough. I was feeling tired, crampy and nauseated . The doctor says thats perfect, you should feel like that. We are on track !

Here are my baby Track Marks......I am junkie for my babies health !! ha ha ha
